The right-sized move
Most removals firms around Hamilton and Glasgow are geared for the big day out — a full three-bed family move, five lads, two lorries and the invoice to match. Perfect if that’s what you’ve got. Complete overkill if you’re shifting a sofa and a bed.
That’s our lane. We’re the man with a van you ring when it’s:
- The couch, bed and a few boxes between your old flat and your new one
- A wardrobe bought off Marketplace that needs collected across town
- The student coming home from halls with a term’s worth of stuff
- Two flats becoming one and a single van run between them
- One piece of furniture that just needs to get from here to there
Big enough van (a mid-wheelbase VW Crafter), small enough outfit that you’re talking to the person doing the lifting. No four-figure quote, no white-glove theatre — a fair price and a quick turnaround.
What we take on
Small flat moves — studios, one-beds, single rooms. Usually 2–4 hours, one or two trips depending on how much there is.
Single-item delivery — a sofa off Marketplace, a fridge from the depot, a lot won at auction. Picked up, carried, dropped off, with you the whole way.
Student moves — halls to flat, flat to halls, the summer run back home to Lanarkshire. We do a lot of these.
Local flat-to-flat — you’re moving a mile down the road. You don’t need a national firm; you need a Crafter and a strong back.
Couch / bed / wardrobe runs — “I bought a couch in Edinburgh and I need it home to Hamilton.” That’s a job we’ve done many times.
Small commercial drops — deli to deli, market-trader stock, shop deliveries. Cash on the day is fine.

- Grand pianos — an upright on the ground floor with two of us is fine, but a grand needs specialists.

How we price it
Two ways, and we tell you which suits on the call — we don’t leave it “to be decided” at the end:
By the hour, when the volume’s uncertain or there are a few stops:
- One-man-and-van: from £45/hr, two-hour minimum
- Two-man-and-van (help for the awkward stuff): from £65/hr, two-hour minimum
Fixed price, when the volume’s clear:
- Single item, collect and drop within Hamilton/Motherwell: from £45
- Single item across central Glasgow: from £55
- Single item further out (Renfrewshire, Stirlingshire, Ayrshire): from £75
- Small one-bed move within Lanarkshire: from £150
- Flat move Hamilton ↔ Glasgow: from £180
- Student halls move: from £100
How it works

- Quote on the call, usually five minutes.
- Lock a slot — same week most weeks, often same day for single items.
- Moving day — we turn up on time, lift carefully, get it there in one piece.
- Pay on completion — cash, card or transfer.
A local single-flat move is generally 2–3 hours; an inter-town move with a couple of stops, more like 3–5.
